Webinar Recap
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Repetition is Reprogramming. If you missed it or want to review, feel free to catch the summary and recording below. Be sure to check out our next event!
Overview
This WORK-SELF session explored how repetition shapes both habit and identity, and how adding meaning and intention transforms ordinary habits into rituals that align with who we are becoming.
Wolf Magdelinic shared his personal story of professional misalignment and recovery, while Josh Thompson-Persaud unpacked the behavioural science behind habit loops, neural efficiency, and identity formation. Guest Michelle Hillier introduced her Breath & Fire practice, showing how breathwork, movement, and self-awareness reconnect people to balance after burnout.
Key Themes
Habits as Mental Shortcuts: The brain automates repeated actions for efficiency through cue → action → reward loops.
Rituals vs. Habits: Rituals add meaning and intention turning energy saving behaviors into energy creating practices.
Identity Through Repetition: Each habit stack becomes an identity loop. Alignment comes from designing these loops consciously.
Individualized Practice: One-size-fits-all habits don’t work. Rituals must fit your own rhythm, values, and body.
From Awareness to Change: Self-inventory and reflection are the starting points for alignment between work and self.
AI & Habit Formation: WORK-SELF is building gentle AI-based accountability tools to help people sustain positive habits and rituals.
Interactive Exercise: Ritual Mapping
Participants completed a three-column reflection:
Tools: What brings you joy or energy?
Time: When does the day feel most difficult or unfocused?
Change: How can you pair a joy-based tool with a challenging moment to shift your state?
This exercise helps identify micro-rituals that can ease daily tension and realign behavior with intention.
Takeaways
Awareness is the first step in reprogramming behaviour.
Repetition without reflection creates misalignment. Repetition with meaning creates growth.
Small daily loops build identity over time. Each habit is a vote for who you’re becoming.
A conversation exploring how what we repeat becomes who we are.
Hosted by WORK-SELF.

Repetition Is Reprogramming: The Science of Rituals
We think of habits as tasks. But in truth, they’re identity loops, small, repeated actions that rewrite the brain’s code over time.
In this 60-minute live session, we explore how micro-rituals can change not only behaviour, but who we believe ourselves to be. Drawing on neuroscience, behavioural design, and lived experience, Wolf Magdelinic shares how repetition became the foundation of his personal transformation and how you can use it to reprogram your own story.
We’ll explore:
Cue → Action → Reward: How to “design friction” for flow instead of forcing motivation
The dopamine loop: why prediction matters more than reward when building habits that stick
Identity in motion: how micro-rituals shift your sense of self one loop at a time
Format:
10-min opening story: Wolf’s transition from burnout to ritualized flow
25-min deep dive: The science of habit loops and the psychology of repetition
15-min interactive session: Live poll + guided ritual-mapping worksheet
10-min Q&A: “How do I build a ritual that fits my current identity stage?”
Why Attend:
Understand how repetition reshapes the brain’s identity pathways
Learn to use friction, flow, and prediction to build rituals that last
Experience the WORK-SELF method firsthand from insight to practice
Walk away with a custom-designed micro-ritual plan for your next chapter
